Explore Ontologies with Canvas Diagrams

Explore ontology structures using the new canvas diagram visualizer. Use browser-local note and grouping tools, and export static diagrams without editing the underlying ontology data.

MatPortal now offers a canvas-based diagram visualizer to help materials scientists and ontology engineers explore ontology structures. The visualizer provides an interactive graphical view of ontology concepts and their relationships in HTO visualization, with an interactive Biomixer visualizer also available.

Visualizer Controls and Presentation Aids

Users can customize their view using note and group controls. These features are strictly browser-local presentation aids designed to help organize the canvas in that browser.

Exporting Diagrams

The visualizer includes options to export the current view. You can download SVG, a diagrams.net file, or PlantUML source. Please note that these export and download formats are not separate live visualization modes and do not constitute ontology edits. The tool remains a read-only visual aid for exploring existing linked data.
